138 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Defence the reason for the deadline being imposed by his Department on a firm of consultants employed by Castleblayney Urban District Council to report on a strategic study of the needs of Castleblayney town and environs in the context of the £1 million compensation fund promised by him in July 1998. [26858/98]
I am not aware of any deadline imposed on the consultants engaged by Castleblayney Urban District Council to carry out the strategic study in the context of the barrack closure in Castleblayney. It is my understanding that the consultants will submit their report at the earliest possible date following consultations with all the interested parties.
