170 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has not received payment of 1998 ten and 22 month special beef premia and a cattle headage grant. [26890/98]

Difficulties have arisen in processing the area aid application for the person named and he has been informed. When these have been resolved, any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Processing of the area aid of the person named has now been completed. Payment under both the cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes will shortly issue to him.

173 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if suckler cow premium payments will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact that he has documented postal record and a copy of his area aid application which does not seem to be on the Department's files. [26893/98]

An area aid application was received from the person named on 8 May 1998. However, the person named has claimed a parcel of land on his area aid application which is also being claimed by another applicant. Both applicants have been written to with a view to resolving the matter.

Willie Penrose

174 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the premium applications submitted by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26956/98]

The person named has lodged one ten month special beef premium application on three animals and five separate 22 month special beef premium applications on 21 animals in total in the course of 1998.

The ten month scheme application and three of the 22 month scheme applications were paid the advances due, totalling £1,370.56, in cheques dated 1 December 1998. A further 22 month scheme application on three animals which was under query will be paid next week.

The 22 month special beef premium application lodged on 21 October 1998 is not due for payment until after the completion of the two month retention period.

175 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in paying area aid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford. [26957/98]

The person named was a new applicant for arable aid in 1998 and was therefore subject to inspection. The results of this inspection were satisfactory and his application has now been processed. Payment is being prepared for issue as soon as possible.

176 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in paying suckler cow subsidy and sheep headage payments to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford. [26958/98]

The area aid application for the person named has been processed. He declared a forage area of 26.98 hectares, but the area found from the mapping process was 26.66 hectares. Any livestock payments due will be based on the area of 26.66 hectares.
