Ceist:13 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Taoiseach the position in relation to the Government's proposals to mark the millennium; the number of meetings held to date by the national millennium committee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26479/98]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 11 to 13, inclusive, together.
The first meeting of the national millennium committee was held on 19 November. A wide range of issues including millennium themes, suitable criteria and proposed projects and events were discussed. The committee is currently considering the matters raised and will be meeting again later this week.
Among other matters, the committee has begun the task of examining millennium project proposals received, including the Liffey walkway which forms part of a number of projects proposed by Míle Átha Cliath.
