96 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Defence the expenditure increase proposed in the Defence Estimates for 1999 under subhead D, for Reserve Defence Force pay and so on; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26709/98]

The provision in the Defence Estimate for 1999 under subhead D, Reserve Defence Forces pay, etc., is £4.54 million, an increase of £0.08 million on the 1998 provision of £4.46 million. The increase is attributable to pay increases.
