Ceist:137 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if a new edition of Facts About Ireland is about to be published; and if he will make copies on disc available to Members of the Oireachtas. [27719/98]

Facts About Ireland was last published in book form in 1995. The first CD-ROM version was published in 1996. A limited revision of the CD-ROM edition was undertaken earlier this year and published at the time of President and Mrs. Clinton's visit to Ireland. My Department sought and has been allocated additional funds in the 1999 Estimates for the preparation and publication of new editions of Facts About Ireland in CD-ROM and book formats. The planning for the publication of these has started, but no publication date has yet been fixed. It is my intention however that both will be published by the end of 1999. I will ensure that complimentary copies of both book and CD-ROM will be distributed to Members of the Oireachtas when they are published.
