83 Mrs. Owen asked the Taoiseach the number of advertisements or notices seeking submissions, job applications, and so on, placed by his Department in any publication, either in Ireland or abroad; the nature of these advertisements or notices; the cost of each advertisement or notice; the name of the publication; and the sum expended by his Department on these activities from July 1997 to date. Other than notices published in Iris Oifigiúil, the information sought by the Deputy is set out beneath:—

National Stadium

Number of advertisements: One.

Purpose: Notice of Consultancy Service (the commissioning of a feasibility study for a stadium for the New Century).

Title: The Official Journal of the European Communities (OJEC).

The Irish Times, Irish Independent, The Examiner, Foinse and Financial Times.

Cost: No cost for the OJEC. £2,792.63 for The Irish Times, Irish Independent and The Examiner which includes the charge for production arrangements by the advertising agency. The cost for the Financial Times advertisement was £3,716.43 and the cost for Foinse £290.40.

IT Equipment

Number of advertisements: One.

Purpose: Notice of Request for Tenders for Computer Equipment (Desktop Personal Computers and Laptops).

Title: The Official Journal of the European Communities (OJEC).

Cost: No cost.Irish Sailors and Soldiers Land Trust
Number of advertisments: Eight.
Purpose: Advertising grants for North-South Ireland-Britain and Island of Ireland Projects.
Title:The Irish Times, Irish Independent, The Examiner, Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Foinse, Saol and Irish Post.
Cost: £13,933.02.
National Centre for Partnership
Number of Advertisements: One.
Purpose: To recruit two executives to the National Centre for Partnership.
Title of Publication:The Irish Times, Irish Independent— 19 February.
Cost: £1,785.96(IT) + £1,660.12(II) = £3,446.08.
