716 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will be in a position to make a decision on the request by Kerry County Council for a compulsory purchase order to enable works to commence on the N21 Ballycarthy to Tralee Road. [1866/99]

I understand that Kerry County Council is reconsidering the proposal having regard to environmental issues that have arisen in relation to the route of the Ballycarthy to Tralee road. In the meantime I do not propose to take any action in relation to the compulsory purchase order.
