780 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if her attention has been drawn to plans for an arts and community resource centre in Ballymun, Dublin 9; if she will provide financial assistance to the promoters in view of the fact there is a significant shortfall in the funding already secured; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I had the pleasure to visit Ballymun on 25 November last to view at first hand the ambitious plans for the Ballymun Arts and Community Resource Centre. I was very impressed with the proposed development but made it clear to its promoters that all funding available to me for the capital development of arts and culture projects has been fully allocated to the end of 1999 and that I am not in a position to give consideration to funding any other major projects, including that in Ballymun, until 2000 at the earliest.
