158 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide a site for the Monkstown educate together project; if he will give approval for the school; the number of children it will cater for; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2318/99]
An application for a permanent school for Monkstown educate together national school has just been received in my Department. At this early stage in examination of the application, it is not possible to indicate the number of pupils the school will need to cater for. On 10 January, I announced a new initiative on school ownership at primary and post-primary levels. Under this initiative, the option of State ownership will be available to new schools such as Monkstown educate together national school.
