45 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide a list of companies which have been granted a derogation from provisions under the Waste Management Act, 1996, due to their membership of REPAK; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2054/99]

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 687 and 688 of 27 January 1999.

Under Article 28 of the Waste Management (Packaging) Regulations, 1997, an approved body for the purpose of the regulations is required to notify each local authority of any producer situate within the functional area of the authority in respect of which a certificate for the purposes of Article 13 of the regulations has been granted or revoked within the preceding calendar month. The Minister for the Environment and Local Government has no function in this regard.
