Ceist:304 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the position regarding the funding of improved access facilities to Innisbiggle, Achill; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2856/99]

Together with officials of my Department I have had a number of meetings with Mayo County Council concerning access to and from Inisbiggle. The county council is at present analysing the implications of the various remedies suggested to alleviate the access problem. My Department is also in the process of obtaining expert analysis of the plans drawn up by Comhar Bigil Teo for the installation of a cablecar at Bullsmouth. As soon as these evaluations are completed I will be in a position to consider the matter further.
