121 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Taoiseach the number and identity of employees on his Department's payroll who were previously employees of the Department of Labour at any time between 1987 and 1991; the tasks they undertake; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2504/99]
Two people on the payroll of the Department of the Taoiseach have previously worked in the Department of Labour. Ms Celia Larkin is currently employed on contract to this Department as personal assistant-administrator of my constituency office. Ms Larkin worked for me in the same capacity at the Department of Labour. Ms Olive Melvin is currently employed on contract to this Department as personal assistant. Ms Melvin perviously worked as a civil servant at clerical officer grade in the Department of Labour, including the period in question.
However, the Deputy will also wish to note that a clerical officer on loan from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform to work in the media monitoring unit also previously worked in the Department of Labour. She remains on the payroll of her parent Department.
