Ceist:

145 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number and identity of persons appointed by him to various boards, agencies or executives since coming into office; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2639/99]

The following persons have been appointed by me to the boards of bodies which come under the aegis of this Department.

One person has been appointed to the board of the Agency for Personal Service Overseas: Ms Philomena Murnaghan.

Eighteen persons have been appointed to the National Committee for Development Education, including one replacement member: Ms Mairead Foley, Chairperson; Ms Philomena Murnaghan; Mr. Sean McNamara; Ms Cris Mulvey, replaced by Ms Berni Brady; Ms Penny Cabot; Ms Deirdre Farrell; Mr. John Lynch; Mr. David Joyce; Mr. Michael O'Sullivan; Mr. John Hammond; Ms Heike Vornhagen; Ms Bet Aalen; Ms Annette Honan; Dr. Colm Regan; Ms Freda Swords; Mr. Paddy Reilly and Mr. John Healy.

Fourteen members have been appointed to the board of the Refugee Agency: Mr. Paddy Dillon-Malone, Chairperson; Ms Noreen O'Sullivan; Mr. Barry O'Hara, replaced by Mr. Jim Mitchell; Ms Mary Aylward; Ms Mary Lally; Mr. Sean McGabhann; Mr. Jack Killane; Mr. Brian McCabe; Mr. Michael Lindenbauer; Ms Sheila Callan; Ms Nadette Foley; Dr. Wendy Cox; Sr. Phil Sinnott and Rev. Dermot Clifford.

Fifteen members have been appointed to the Irish Aid Advisory Board, including one replacement member: Professor John Jackson, chairperson; Mr. Sean Donnelly, replaced by Fr. Paddy Monahan; Mr. Jim Scally; Mr. Bill Shipsey; Dr. Margot Anglim; Mr. Aidan O'Driscoll; Professor Helen O'Neill; Mr. Terence McCaughey; Mr. Sean Byrne; Dr. Margaret Fitzgerald; Mr. Tony Fahey; Mr. Noel McDonagh; Mr. Niall Tóibin and Ms Mary Ainscough.

Twenty two members have been appointed to the Cultural Relations Committee: Ms Ann Fuller, Chairman; Ms Siobhan Bourke; Mr. Paul Brady; Ms Maureen Brennan; Ms Maureen Cairnduff; Ms Audrey Conlon; Mr. Desmond Egan; Ms Marie Heaney; Mr. T. V. Honan; Ms Fionnuala Hunt; Mr. Reamonn Keary; Professor Declan Kiberd; Ms Jackie McKenna; Mr. Alf MacLochlainn; Ms. Bernadette Madden; Mr. Patrick Mason; Mr. Chris Meehan; Mr. Peter Murray; Mr. Eamonn Ó hArgáin; Ms Patricia Quinn; Mr. Alan Stanford and Mr. Mick Wilkins. Mr. Paul Brady resigned from the committee with effect from November 1998.
