161 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Education and Science if payment of a post leaving certificate grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who is a student at Enniscorthy vocational college. [4502/99]
Under the terms of the maintenance grants scheme for students attending post leaving certificate courses a student is not eligible for grant assistance in respect of a second period of study at the same level, irrespective of whether or not a grant was paid previously. As the candidate in question has already pursued a course at NCVA level 2 she may not be considered for grant aid in respect of a second NCVA level 2 qualification.
