I am pleased to confirm that my Department has recently sanctioned a small/medium size bus to cater for the pupils in question. The difficulties to which the Deputy refers had arisen due to deterioration in road conditions. The previous service operated by a larger bus was withdrawn on safety grounds on 18 January 1999. The new arrangement will improve the situation considerably, and will come into effect from Monday, 22 February 1999.
