22 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if promotions, assignments and postings made in his Department in 1999 have been made following due process and in keeping with TLAC type procedures; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4440/99]
A number of diplomatic postings or assignments, to take effect between now and September, involv ing the ranks of counsellor, first secretary and third secretary, have recently been decided on by the Department of Foreign Affairs. As Minister, I am of course advised of and concurred in the assignments. Such assignments are routine and are made in accordance with the Departments planned postings system. TLAC procedures do not arise in this context.
No diplomatic promotions have been made to date in 1999.
