Vol. 500 No. 7

Written Answers. - Roads Projects.

Alan Shatter

Ceist:

331 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision by him of funding for the construction of the new bridge from Spawell to Firhouse Road in Dublin 24; the consideration given by him to date to the letter of the 8 January 1999 forwarded by South Dublin County Council concerning this matter; and if the funding required to realign Knocklyon Road will be provided to South Dublin County Council. [5090/99]

It is clear from South Dublin County Council's letter of 8 January 1999, and from discussions between my Department and the council, that there are a number of major non-national road schemes which South Dublin Councy Council wish to progress. Consequently, the council has been asked to provide a prioritised list of schemes for which they are seeking departmental funding, together with costings where appropriate. On receipt of the council's response the matter will receive further consideration in my Department.
