Written Answers. - State Boards.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

114 Mr. Hogan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when a person (details supplied) was appointed to the board of Enterprise Ireland; the date on which he resigned from the board; the reason for his resignation; the payments made to him in respect of remuneration and expenses during his term of office; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4913/99]

I appointed Mr. Tim Collins to the board of Enterprise Ireland with effect from 23 July 1998. By letter dated 18 January 1999 he informed me that he was resigning from the board, for personal health reasons, effective from 24 January 1999.

In accordance with his warrant of appointment Mr. Collins was entitled to remuneration of £4,000 per annum and travelling and subsistence allowances at the rates appropriate to civil servants of the highest grade. As a member of the board of Enterprise Ireland Mr. Collins received total remuneration of £1,998.98. I am informed by Enterprise Ireland that he did not claim travelling and subsistence allowances.
