93 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the claimed legal fees arising from the tribunal of inquiry into the beef industry which are under appeal; if he will give the details of fees claimed and matters arising; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5323/99]
94 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give a breakdown of solicitors' fees submitted to the Taxing Master arising from the tribunal of inquiry into the beef industry; the fees paid to date; the outstanding fees not submitted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 93 and 94 together.
The amount paid to date in respect of legal fees is £13,085,019.03 – £9,221,282.63 in respect of legal costs awarded by the Taxing Master; £1,777,294.60 in respect of legal fees of the State Legal Team; £1,865,476.80 in respect of legal fees of the Tribunal Legal Team; £220,965.00 in respect of legal fees of the Department of Tourism and Trade.
Full details of all legal fees are set out in the following table including cases where claims have not been finalised.
My Department has not received any further claims to date and would not be aware of the status of cases before the Taxing Master.
