Ceist:235 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence the position in relation to the alternative use envisaged for the former Devoy Barracks, Naas, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5280/99]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 223 and 235 together.
The Government, on 15 July 1998, approved a programme of evacuation and sale of six military barracks which are considered surplus to requirements. In this regard it is proposed to offer Devoy Barracks, Naas for sale by public tender as soon as possible.
