151 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress to date on the application under section 49 of the Registration of Titles Act, 1964, which was lodged on 7 February 1996 by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [6332/99]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the Land Registry issued queries on this dealing to the applicant's solicitor on 21 July 1998 and 9 December 1998 and replies are awaited. The queries raised must be satisfactorily discharged before the matter can proceed. The Deputy will appreciate that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners and therefore take some time to process.
Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date for the application concerned at this stage.
However, I can assure the Deputy that the Land Registry will do everything possible to expedite the resolution of this application.
