63 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to reduce to 18 the age at which a person may be a candidate for Dáil Éireann or the Presidency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6157/99]

I have no plans at present to reduce to 18 the age at which a person may be a candidate for Dáil Éireann or for the office of the President.
