As the Deputy may be aware activity levels in accident and emergency departments in the Eastern Health Board area are monitored by that health board's Accident and Emergency Steering Group and this group forwards reports to my Department on a regular basis.
From the information supplied by the steering group, the level of new attendances in 1998 at the accident and emergency departments of each of the hospitals mentioned is laid out in the following table:
