274 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the refurbishment of Ardee Castle, County Louth, does not make provision for access for people with disabilities; if he will intervene in the matter in view of the fact that the refurbishment is being supported by funding from Louth County Council and the EU peace and reconciliation fund; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have recently received a number of representations on this subject which is primarily the responsibility of Louth County Council as owner of the castle. However, in view of the fact that the project is in receipt of funding from the special support programme for peace and reconciliation, my Department has requested Louth County Council to furnish a report in the matter. I will respond to the representations as soon as the council's report has been received and I will also advise Deputy O'Sullivan of the outcome.
