333 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of new inquiries in respect of filming; if there are any indications of an expansion in the industry in 1999; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7174/99]
Since the establishment last year of the Screen Commission of Ireland by me on an operational basis, this body has become the first point of contact for film-makers considering Ireland as a film location. Accordingly, I do not have information on the number of inquiries in respect of filming.
At present there are eight applications for section 481 certification being considered by my Department.
