82 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the status of Ireland's proposals to the International Whaling Commission to create an international whale sanctuary; the developments, if any, which have taken place since this announcement; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 373 and 374 of 6 October 1998, No. 29 of 25 November 1998 and No. 68 of 3 February 1999. The proposals put forward by Ireland for discussion will again be addressed at the forthcoming annual meeting of the International Whaling Commission in May next.
