108 Mr. Barrett asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 82 of 16 February 1999, the Dún Laoghaire area is one of the seven areas within which a local employment service is to be established. [7360/99]
I announced, on 29 September 1998, the expansion of the Local Employment Service to seven new areas, namely, Bray, Canal Communities, Southside – in Dublin, Galway City, Monaghan, Tralee and Waterford city. The LES is implemented by the local partnership company in each area. In the case of southside, the LES will cover the 21 pockets of disadvantage in the general Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area, including Dún Laoghaire town.
