Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Shatter – the implementation of the recommendations of the working group on qualification for appointment of judges of the High and Supreme Courts; (2) Deputy Stanton – the need to offer students who suffer a crisis, such as bereavement, during or just before their leaving certificate examination the opportunity to repeat in July or August of the same year; (3) Deputy Penrose – the inclusion of Mullingar as a centre for decentralisation; (4) Deputy Brendan Smith – the need to progress the regionalisation application submitted to EUROSTAT; (5) Deputy Hayes – the need to address the fact that over 80 per cent of landlords operating within the private rented sector have to register with their local authority; (6) Deputy Coveney – the need to make funds available to ensure that Carrigaline, County Cork, continues to have a District Court; (7) Deputy Gormley – the urgent need to implement the Dublin Transportation Office's recommendations to deal with Dublin's worsening traffic problem; (8) Deputy Sargent – the policy of the Government in relation to the advisability or otherwise of allowing an extra gas pipeline between Britain and the Fingal coastline in Dublin; (9) Deputy Wall – the current and future level of funding available for support groups for children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; (10) Deputy De Rossa – the steps taken to establish the whereabouts and secure the safe release of Brother Noel Bradshaw taken hostage in Sierra Leone on February 28; (11) Deputy McGrath – the proposed transfer of postal sorting from Moate Post Office to Athlone and the consequential downgrading of Moate Post Office.

The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected by me for discussion: Deputies De Rossa, Penrose, Hayes and Stanton.
