Ceist:84 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will assist the advocacy group Europa Donna in order to advance its work on breast cancer awareness. [7511/99]

I strongly support steps to promote a full awareness of breast cancer. I have provided £2.948 million this year and £1 million last year to the national breast cancer screening programme, which has an important role in this regard. The thrust of the national cancer strategy, which I am committed to implementing, is to focus on measures of prevention, early detection and co-ordinated treatment of all forms of cancer. I am happy to work with the group Europa Donna in this context and I wish them well in their work.
