92 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the huge increases in private rents being charged in the Dublin area, the increasing number of evictions of tenants and the implications for housing policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the replies to Questions Nos. 11 and 23 of 3 March 1999. The Government announced on 9 March 1999 a decision, in principle, to establish a commission to examine issues relating to security of tenure in the private rented sector.
