Written Answers. - Computerisation Programme.
As part of the schools IT 2000 programme, the National Centre for Technology in Education, NCTE, will be examining different models of technical support for schools. These will be implemented on a trial basis in the autumn after which a decision on the most appropriate technical support structure for schools will be made by my Department. The geographical deployment of technical support services will be considered in the light of experience gained from the various technical support pilot models.
My Department and the NCTE are already working closely with schools and other organisations in Ennis both as part of the schools IT 2000 programme and the Ennis Information Age Town Project.
