Vol. 502 No. 6

Written Answers. - Inland Fisheries.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

81 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the progress, if any, made following a meeting prior to Christmas 1998 regarding concerns expressed by a local group concerning the purchase of fishing rights to the Caragh River, Glenbeigh, County Kerry; the situation for the people of Glenbeigh; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9112/99]

As full ownership of the fishery in question, which was a condition of the grant aid approved in principle under the tourism angling measure, (TAM), has not been established by the applicant, the TAM management committee has decided that the applicants do not qualify for the grant applied for and has recently conveyed this decision to them.
