74 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if recent changes in the membership of the board of Telecom Éireann have any implications for the third mobile phone licence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9407/99]
The award of a third mobile telephony licence is the responsibility of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation. The result of the competition held last year by the director is currently the subject of a High Court case. I am not aware of any reason the recent changes to the board of Telecom Éireann would have any implications for the eventual award of the licence.
