Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

344 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath has not been admitted to Tullamore General Hospital for a hip operation in view of the fact he has been on a waiting list for a considerable period of time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9775/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons living in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to investigate this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
