Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

Ceist:

380 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason a first time buyer's grant was refused to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 in view of the fact one of the parties came from a jurisdiction where this grant subsidy was not available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9706/99]

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address given.

A new house grant is payable to a first-time purchaser of a new house who fulfils the conditions of the grant scheme, which require, inter alia, that the applicant or their spouse must not have previously purchased, individually or jointly, a house for their own occupation in this State or abroad.
