Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Coveney – the provision of funding to ensure the Irish Marine Emergency Service at Crosshaven can purchase an inshore rescue boat for the Cork harbour area; (2) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – the urgent unresolved issues surrounding the transfer of the traffic warden service to Dublin Corporation on 29 April; (3) Deputy O'Malley – the refusal to pay the wages or otherwise compensate a fisheries officer from the Southern Fisheries Board who was seriously injured several years ago in the course of his duties; (4) Deputy Theresa Ahearn – the dilapidated and totally unacceptable condition of Golden Garda station in County Tipperary; (5) Deputy Clune – the need to provide a dedicated transport system for the disabled in Cork; (6) Deputy Rabbitte – the need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment to use the powers conferred by section 38 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1990, to help find a solution to the industrial dispute involving scaffolders; (7) Deputy Jim Higgins – the sale and takeover of the Glan Bia meat plant at Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, and the possible loss of more than 200 jobs in the context of the McKenzie report on the rationalisation of the meat industry; (8) Deputy Naughten – the sale and takeover of Ballaghadereen meat plant and the possible loss of over more than 200 jobs in the context of the McKenzie report on the rationalisation of the meat industry.

The matters raised by Deputies Rabbitte, O'Malley, Jim Higgins and Naughten have been selected for discussion.
