Scholarships for postgraduate research and study in the United States are made available every year to Irish citizens by the Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange, also known as the Fulbright Commission, which is administered by the cultural section of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Fulbright scholarships are advertised annually in the national newspapers in late September-early October and interviews for shortlisted candidates are usually held in December.
