429 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for Education and Science the level of educational provision in the Firhouse area of Dublin 24; and the plans, if any, his Department has in relation to the expansion in the number of houses in the area. [15159/99]
There are two national schools and one second level school in Firhouse, Dublin 24. There is also a national school in the adjacent area of Ballycragh.
I understand that there are proposals for the development of new housing on approximately 200 acres of land in the Ballycullen area, south of Firhouse. The planning section of my Department is examining the need for additional education provision in this general area in consultation with South County Council and the management authorities of existing schools.
