59 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the amount and percentage of the total lottery expenditure which was specifically allocated to sport and recreation for each of the years from 1994 to 1998; the level of lottery expenditure on sport and recreation in 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. National lottery funded expenditure is divided into the following categories: arts, culture and national heritage. the Irish language; youth, sport, recreation and amenities; health and welfare.
The percentage of lottery funded expenditures which was spent on youth, sport, amenity and recreation was as follows:
