374 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Finance if he has received representations regarding the advance availability of euro bank notes and coins to companies in the coin operated machine industry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18501/99]
I received representations from one person in August 1999 on behalf of a representative association about the advance availability of euro banknotes and coins to companies in the coin operated machine industry. In my reply I indicated that this matter was under discussion at European level and that I was hopeful that a satisfactory conclusion would be reached.
The discussions at European level involve the European Vending Association, a working group of mint directors, the European Central Bank and the European Commission.
