512 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging a scan for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the reason the requests from her general practitioner for urgent attention have gone unnoticed; the reason an appointment arranged for 25 August 1999 was not notified to her until the afternoon of 24 August 1999 when she could not travel due to ill health; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of hospital services in this instance is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
