597 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the up to date position in relation to the advancement of the Innishannon water supply to Ballinspittle and Garretstown; whether funding has been approved; and when work is likely to commence. [17881/99]
A revised brief for the appointment of consulting engineers to prepare a preliminary report for this scheme was approved in January 1999. I understand that Cork County Council is currently in the process of shortlisting candidates for this appointment. The scheme has been approved for funding under the rural town and villages initiative announced in this year's budget.
