I understand that the person to whom the Deputy refers is a mature student who has recently returned from the United States and who wishes to attend a third level course at NUI, Maynooth. In order to determine whether he is eligible for assistance under the free fees initiative, he should contact the fees office of his prospective college, and he should contact his local authority in order to determine whether he is eligible for assistance under the higher education grants scheme.
