223 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to ensure facilities are put in place to provide an urgent operation for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who is awaiting cardiac by-pass surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of St. James's Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
