Vol. 509 No. 3

Written Answers. - Probation and Welfare Service.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

137 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has in relation to establishing a probation and welfare office in Ballymun, Dublin 11; if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties facing clients in Ballymun in keeping appointments in the city centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20194/99]

To date the Office of Public Works has not been successful in acquiring a suitable office facility for the Probation and Welfare Service but they are making provision to accommodate the service on a site which is to be developed as part of the Ballymun regeneration programme. Clients of the service are currently visited in their homes or, where appropriate, appointments are made to meet them in the Finglas office situated in Poppintree Mall.
