I indicated a few months ago that my Department would provide a range of IT equipment for the use of guidance counsellors. Through the National Centre for Technology in Education, my Department has been collaborating with the National Centre for Guidance in Education and the Institute for Guidance Counsellors on the acquisition of suitable software and the development of a training programme in IT for counsellors. It is planned to commence this training programme before the end of 1999.
