Ceist:

133 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the schemes submitted by Castlebar Urban District Council, County Mayo, for each of the past five years for non-national road improvements; the allocation, if any, he proposes to make towards in this regard in 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Details of the schemes submitted to my Department by Castlebar Urban District Council for funding in the period 1995-99 under the EU co-financed specific improvements grant scheme are as follows:

1996	McHale Road
1997	McHale Road
1998	McHale Road
1999	Mountain View to Loop Road

The project submitted by Castlebar UDC was not among those selected for funding in 1999 under the EU co-financed scheme of grants. Non-national road grants for 1999 have been allocated and there are no funds at the disposal of my Department from which further grants could be made available to local authorities.
