227 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason an application by a person (details supplied) in County Galway for a milk subsidisation restructuring scheme has not been successful; and when a decision will be made on this application. [21310/99]
The eligibility for subsidy towards the purchase of restructured quota under the 1996 restructuring scheme was determined on the basis of criteria set down under the EU Commission approved scheme. These criteria were notified to all applicants for subsidy. As the person named did not satisfy these criteria, his application was deemed unsuccessful.
