Vol. 509 No. 6

Written Answers. - Road Safety.

Martin Brady

Ceist:

434 Mr. M. Brady asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will consider introducing regulations making revolving flashing beacons compulsory on all road-moving farm vehicles in view of the hazards they pose to other users and pedestrians, particularly outside daylight hours; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21571/99]

The introduction of regulations regarding the compulsory use of amber flashing beacons on slow moving vehicles is currently under review in my Department. I intend to bring forward proposals early next year.
