41 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if a full revised cost estimate for Luas has been arrived at following the evaluation of the Tallaght to Abbey Street line by consultants (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21775/99]
The consultants in question have recently completed evaluations of capital cost estimates prepared by CIE for the Tallaght to Abbey Street and Sandyford to St. Stephen's Green light rail lines. I will shortly submit to Government proposals for firm capital budgets for these lines.
As I have said previously, it is not realistic to seek to establish a reliable cost estimate for the full network pending completion of a geotechnical evaluation of the underground section.
